Sounds like mafia-style rivalry of gambling businesses. Readers' comments mostly stupid, as usual.
Background: Ayia Napa is a small town which lives on cheap tourism, sleazy bars and cabarets, illegal gambling, prostitution (trafficking), drugs etc. Of recent years, chains of apparently legal betting shops/bookmakers have sprung up throughout the island. Some of these are a cover for illegal gambling which has become BIG business (Cypriots love gambling). The police seem powerless to control it, some say corrupt.
This might trigger some action to control the sleazier side of life here, as the country is normally peaceful and most murders, up to now, are passionate (3-5/year).
