Car gone probably

I'm unhurt, my fault, overlooked truck. Car is probably a write off (undriveable, 1.5k damage) and it will be a 2k financial hit at least.

Cudos to police - they were super nice and helpful, they assisted with forms for insurance and they won't fine me.

Sorry to hear about it. i shortened the front end of my Volvo by about 2 feet a few years ago and walked away. The car was totaled out only because the computers were crunched. Otherwise it would have been worth repairing.

Unless it is insisted that the car is in perfect visible condition, the damage doesn't look severe from the outside. Nothing a good body shop cannot fix.

Well, the car before crash was worth 1600 EUR and the rough damage assesment is 1500. The belt fell off, the rev counter is stuck at 3000, won't start up, windows won't come down with key inserted and it will take new body parts and paint job.

I do see a same color 1 year newer GTI (1.6 130hp, mine was 1.4 100hp) for 2700 online.

The main thing is I'm completely unhurt, my ribs hurt a bit (was fastened, airbags didn't come off - colision was Y shaped).

I really liked this car.

Mistakes happen, good to hear you are ok!

Managed to accomplish everything today.

- Spent 1h+ on bus travelling to place where car I found was.
- Bought 1 year newer same colour Polo GTI (1.6, 125hp, leather seats, warmed seats, Xenons, automatic air conditioning, working remote unlock, German style clean look with all names and logos removed) with some minor issues for a good price
- Sold my car to mechanic who performed diagnostic on the car I was buying. Price was low but if i wanted to sell it for more I'd have to spend 100 EUR on towing and deal with internet adds.
- Managed all paperwork of transferring ownership of both cars, insuring the new car. I have temporary licence plate but I can register the new car on Friday.


I already lost at least 50 EUR on alternate transport in a week and lots of time, so I'm glad I managed to accomplish everything today.

The new car is awesome
- sounds great
- accelerates noticeably better than the previous
- has better interior
- is more preserved
- every time I step on the throttle the sound and acceleration brings smile to my face
- wheels are OK, so it's stable at speeds above 110km/h (68mph)

Damn, glad to hear everything worked out good.

My 08 Civic DX-G is in the shop for the 6th straight day, a bizarre noise when I steer, that and after they replaced both front strut assemblies, lhopefully they will find the trouble and it won't cost my too much. Yay car problems.

Apparently I didn't take enough pictures of the old car, so Police did it for me. Had 2 speeding tickets in the mail. These were the first speeding tickets I got after 20.000km and 1.5 years.
