Disney/Lucasfilm and Zack Snyder (300, Man of Steel) are developing a Star Wars universe film parellel to Episode VII but loosely based on Akira Kurosawa’s 1954 flick The Seven Samurai, which was also the basis for The Magnificent Seven.

Star Wars is already based on Hidden Fortress (Kurosawa).
Kurosawa simply rocks. I think his non-samurai films such as To Live or Red Beard or Yume might be even better than some of his samuarai ones.Comment
