TX, it seems you did something right or it solved itself, you're now crunching credits (and at a ghastly pace I might add)!

Sry to hijack you're I'm Back Thread, Maggi. I'll buy you flowers when we meet to make up.

Edit: Maggi, it seems you're WU's end in error. If you see no credits (Tab Projects, column Work done) it might be a good idea to Reset project and (if that fails) reinstall.

BTW, there is a decent forum (http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum_forum.php?id=2) with ppl who actually know about this stuff.

yeah, I noticed that too and searched for a solution, but apparently they were unable to resolve this problem and they stopped looking into it, but according to their FAQ, they are granting credits for those erroneous submissions

I'll keep an eye on it, but I won't run my machine 24/7 anyways, so we'll see how much I can contribute.

      Cheers,

AFAIK, Rosetta does not have GPU or CUDA based programs. You can Update the project and look at the Event Log (which, in the English version is CTRL+SHFT+E, not sure about the German version Maggi may be running). You will see it requests tasks for GPU but gets none. It never does.

It's nice to have two new members, we're 9 now, although degrub seems not to crunch ATM for some time now which is a pity. Y'all mind your electricity bills, ok?

              Moin Moin !

1st off, the BOINC client must be buggy as hell.

I found the reason why all my results were invalid/broken, whatever they decide to label it:

Everytime I resumed the client to continue crunching, all results jumped from their actual percentage to 100%, declared themselves as finished and got submitted.

Obviously, this led to my results neither being complete nor accurate.

As as test, I added SETI@home and in the moment the workload got shifted to the GPU, each job produced an error and stopped working.

Before you ask, yes I downclocked my system to see if it's OC related, but it clearly is not.

Summing it up, I uninstalled the whole boinc-boinc-crappola alltogether, seeing that it's main purpose is to use "free" resources, ie. stopping automatically when I use my PC and resuming automatically again, once my PC is in idle mode, it blatantly failed at that.

Sorry, no more WUs from my end, because I'm definately not willing to trouble shoot their concept.

yep, no GPU code for rosetta ... they claim, they'd need to much RAM per calculation, so they don't see a point in porting it.

              Sorry, no dice.

I have read somewhere about a few who got WU's ending in errors and that being fixed by re-installing BOINC as a service (protected application mode they call it now, don't know why).

Is there a way of running e.g. seti (or one of the other ones that have CUDA support) at the same time, without it impacting Rosetta (thus: rosetta on cpu, force other one on gpu)?

I know, I read about that and tried is as well, but as I wrote last week:

yes, that should work, but considering my issues, I'm a bit skeptical ...

I'd say, it's about time to Mooooooooooh again !!1!

Obviously, I've been outta the loop for another two years ...

Mainly, because I'm still buried in work (guess that'll never change in this life again) and my family is demanding what's left over.
Just yesterday, I started my main three weeks holiday for this season and I'll visit my brother and his family next week.

On the bright side, I had an opportunity to supervise and work on one of the best german comedies for quite a while.

Storyline in english found on IMDB
An African-German Author looses his memory and is used by a modern National Socialist Party as promotion-figure for more political power over Germany.

The African-German writer Sebastian Klein is one of the most famous Author of Germany. To promote his latest book, he is on reading-tour through Germany and also visits the little city of Prittwitz. But there, the local Neo-Nazis give him a hit on his head and Sebastian looses his memories. Instead he is parroting everything other people tell him. Sven, the political leader of a modern National Socialist Party, recognizing the opportunity and uses Sebastian as a promotion speaker against integration. When Sebastians highly pregnant girlfriend Nina is seeing him on TV, she is shocked and starts to chase him with the policeman Sascha in order to safe him from the Neo Nazis.

In a nutshell, the Neo-Nazis aren't the brightest bulbs.

One example would be when they are in a hospital, trying to find their injured leader, one guy misinterprets "neonatology" as station for "neo nazis", but got corrected by his comrade, stating this would rather be for the "NATO".

Here is the trailer, unfortunately without any foreign subtitles, but I hope, you get the drift:

That's it for now from my neck of the woods ...

So, what's been going on over here ?
                        Everything roses and peaches ?
                        Hopefully, no more tragedies !?!

                        Cheeeeeze !
