    T'Challa, aka Storm's husband

And yes, the image dates are wrong. They moved the film from late 2017 to a summer tentpole film in 2018. This because of T'Challa's role in Civil War and because its likely minority audiences will be huge: T'Challa was the first black superhero in mainstream American comics. Long before Luke Cage, Falcon or the others.

While Black Panthers world of Wakanda as well as his enemy Ulysses Klaue (Andy Serkis) were introduced in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Birth.Movies.Death. talked to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige about how TChalla himself, as played by Chadwick Boseman, will emerge onscreen in next years Captain America: Civil War.

It is a role that he is still in the beginning phases of taking on, its a mantle he is only beginning to take on because his father is older, says Feige of the transfer of the traditional Black Panther role from TChallas father TChaka. The reason we introduced him in Civil War is because we needed a third party. We needed fresh eyes who wasnt embedded with the Avengers and who has a very different point of view than either Tony or Steve. We said, We need somebody like Black Panther why dont we just use Black Panther? Thats how it went in the development process.

Although technologically far advanced, Wakandans have up until this point in the Marvel Cinematic Universe kept to themselves, and they have also kept their most prized resource vibranium out of reach until a certain homicidal cyborg named Ultron took things into his own hands. Turns out, the Earth-shattering events in Sokovia during the Age of Ultron finale will play a pivotal role in Black Panther taking his place on the world stage.

Feige adds: Today, pre-Civil War, post-Ultron I think he and his father are saying, A bunch of vibranium just got out of here and wreaked a lot of havoc. Maybe we cant stay behind these borders anymore, maybe we have to stick our heads out and make at least an attempt to be a part of the rest of the world right now, while at the same time protecting our people. Thats sort of where we meet him in Civil War.'

    Box office monster....

Essentially; King T'Challa/Black Panther, his female guards & 'Q' equivalent vs. a great portrayal of N'Jadaka/Killmonger by Michael B. Jordan - a villain who you can understand "why?"

Black Panther is now looking at the sixth-best opening of all-time on a three-day-basis with an estimated $185.8M per industry projections Saturday AM and a mind-blowing $213M over four days. Note that between Friday night and this morning (roughly a seven-hour time frame), estimates changed. Currently, Saturday should see around $61M which puts us at these figures. Anything significantly greater, and Black Panther breaks even more records.

How much do moviegoers love Black Panther? The Ryan Coogler-directed movie earned an A+ CinemaScore, Marvels second after 2012s The Avengers. On Screen Engine/ComScore PostTrak, moviegoers are giving the pic an 88% definite recommend, a 95% overall positive score, while a third plan to see it again in the theater.
