Mike Colter: Luke Cage, an ex-con with superhuman strength and unbreakable skin who now fights crime. It's all part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe but Luke Cage is a darker, grittier, more tangible character than Iron Man or Thor. He likes to keep things close to his chest, operate on the hush-hush. He has these abilities but he’s not sure how and when to use them. He's a very nuanced character.
Mahershala Ali: Cornell "Cottonmouth" Stokes, a nightclub owner in Harlem who deals in illegal operations.
Alfre Woodard: Mariah Dillard. alocal politician looking to bring change to Harlem and Stokes' cousin, whose life is "thrown into turmoil" by the actions of Cage and Stokes.
Rosario Dawson: Claire Temple/Night Nurse, reprising her role from Daredevil.
Simone Missick: Misty Knight, a Harlem police detective with a strong sense of justice, who is determined to learn about Cage and is the partner of Rafael Scarfe.
Frank Whaley: Rafael Scarce, hard-nosed police detective & partner of Misty Knight.
Theo Rossi: Shades, a relentless, menacing, smooth and manipulative, street smart criminal, with ties to Cage's past.

Luke Cage set photos reveal key location and new cast member
Production continues on Marvel’s Luke Cage, the third of four planned Netflix original series, and we’ve got over twenty new photos from the set featuring star Mike Colter as the titular hero. In addition, the photos confirm another cast member for the series with actor Frankie Faison (“The Wire,†“Bansheeâ€). We’ll venture a guess that Faison is playing “Pop†in the series, given he and Colter’s proximity to the Pop’s Barbershop in the background. Whether this is a new character for the series, or maybe even Luke’s estranged father himself, remains unconfirmed. Cheo Hodari Coker (Notorious, “NCIS: Los Angelesâ€) will serve as executive producer and showrunner of the anticipated series, Marvel’s Luke Cage. Coker is writing the first two episodes of the series that will premiere in 2016, everywhere that Netflix is available.
