RIP Sam Panopoulos (who?)

Sam Panopoulos recently passed away at the age of 83.

In 1962 Sam and his brothers invented the Hawaiian pizza (cheese, ham, onion, pineapple etc.) at their Satellite Restaurant in Chatham Ontario, about 50 miles from Detroit. Its Detroit area incarnation often has a hand-tossed Cajun spiced crust with spicy sausage, jalapeno and sometimes yellow peppers.

RIP Sam, and thank you!!
