Lately I've been playing daily chess on chess.com It's correspondence chess rethought. You start 2-5 day (always a fixed amount of days but 5 days works if you have go somewhere on weekend or have crunch time at work) game which means you have 2-5 days per move. You make a move, when your opponent moves you get an email and notification. You can use PC or phone app. If you don't move within preset days you (or opponent) looses. Unlike blitz where you always do the same thing here you actually think more about the game so it's more like slow chess but doesn't take 1-2h like a slow chess game. You make moves in 5 games during morning coffee, then go to work. Once you get home you see what opponents did, make moves and forget about it.
I've progressed since playing daily chess.
