Holt is a former circus performer whose life is turned upside down after he returns home from the war. Holt teams up with circus owner Max Medici to care for a newborn elephant, whose giant ears have already made him a laughing stock.

However, Dumbo and Holt's fates quickly change when the elephant reveals he can fly, leading businessman V.A. Vandevere and his partner Colette Marchant to swoop in and try and make him a star. Arkin as a Wall Street tycoon.

But seriously: it seems to have the right atmosphere... Could be good!

Depp's a train wreck; busted, drugged/drunk and in his most recent pics he looks horrible.

Still, the Dumbo seems like a story that can be told very nicely in Tim Burton's style...
