2nd time in the last few weeks;

and it's almost 2 years before the servicing mission.

IMO it's getting time to quit wasting resources on this outdated thing.

$1.7 to $2.4 billion for other things (GAO numbers)....

Contrast this with how well the rovers on Mars are doing, even with one of them limping its way across the planet. Obviously Hubble is far older, but it's seen more than its fair share of problems (after problems, after problems).

When you consider that modern land based telescopes with adaptive optics are more powerful than Hubble and that 'where it's at' infrared space telescopes like Spitzer can be put up for 1/2 to 1/3 the cost of a servicing mission....
