They've made the right cell type from adult stem cells;
IIRC there is a group working on printing blood vessels and other surrounding tissues using the same Epson print head tech being used to print organic LED displays. They do it cell layer by cell layer until they have a 3D cell matrix + a collagen support matrix.
You'd think once large enough they could add fibroblast growth factor 2 (FGF2) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) growth factor to the soup and they could culture the assemblage until it's large enough to be useful.
ahhh....here's one article, though there is a newer one somewhere in my (massively unsorted) bookmarks about it's use for vessels
