One of the problem is that to maintain grants scientists have to find something. If the research finds nothing they're out of a job effectively. This why you get two lots of rather convincing scientists poles apart providing convincing arguments some for and some against. The media has now latched onto Global warming so every new twister and drought is down to global warming.
The planet is naturally warming it's coming out of an ice age. Are we having an effect?? Yes but probably not as much as suggested. Is it a good idea to clean up anyway??? Yes.
In this Country GLobal Warming has been seen as a great way to introduce new taxes.
Introduce a new public transport system to get people out of cars. No of course not tax em instead. Of course the Big Bosses will claim the extra expenses back.
Ask companies to reduce there packaging. Of course not just get councils to tax people on how much rubbish they throw away. One company used a one foot by six inch box for a single bolt that someone ordered.
Give grants so people can buy hybrid cars of course not lost petrol revenue and err they have to give reduced parking fees for these cars. therefore less revenue.
Give me people grants to install solar panels etc. Nope just give them very small grants. Okay the claims of wind generators have been found to be false but solar panels aren't that bad and will help.Comment
