Stomach stapling has proven to be very successful if done right. however, their are definite health risks and possibly body damage to bad staples or rips and tears. There is a new method that deals with band they put around the stomach that is filled with saline to compress the stomach. You can have more saline put in or have some taken out depending on your needs and as far as the beginning of the year no one had been adversely affected.
