My friend Steve used to find great amusement in bouncing his TV remote control signal off of his cocker spaniel, Tara.

Obviously it didn't take much to amuse Steve.

Sounds like our middle son Chris.

Chris and his wife Beth have a 5 year old & she says it's more like she has two 5 year olds

Faulty ones, yeah. AFAIK the ones that work properly have usually 2 times the frequency of electrical grid in given place...so that would mean 120Hz for you.

Accidentally - I've never heard somebody complaining about flicker on 100 or 120Hz monitor...but 50 or 60Hz does dive headaches.

Reminds me, I have to check at what frequency bats common during summer in my city emit signals. I definatelly can hear them...irritating a bit - when they're very near, it doesn't become loud at any point (in the sense of "loudness" it always barely registers), but it does become almost painfull.
