  • TED: printing organs

In a very recent talk at TED Dr. Anthony Atala (of Wake Forest University's Regenerative Medicine Dept.) updates us on their progress in creating bio-engineered organs. These would be made on demand using the persons own cells, so transplant rejection would not be a factor.

Prepare yourselves: I strongly recommend taping your jaws in the up position lest they hit the floor with a major thud.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Did you do the same drop-jaw I did when he took a kidney out of that machine? Granted they have a ways to go, and trials after that, but jeezzz....
