I can well understand that π should be replaced by τ. Nearly all the relevant calculations I have had to make in nearly 60 years since I graduated have included 2π, so this would be a logical step. (Actually, it just struck me >60 years; I went from Uni, conscripted straight into the army on 18 June 1951!!!)

From a notation point of view, π has double the legs of τ, isn't that confusing?
