If so, have a look at this video. David Mackay is giving a lecture at Caltech about the future of energy, mainly regarding the UK, but with other countries in mind as well. He does it in a very human way, so that even the layman can understand it without getting bogged down in astronomical figures or in costs. Highly recommended, even if I would question one or two of his assertions.
