  • Cancer stem cells?

Three studies appear to confirm the view that tumour growth is fuelled by cancer stem cells

Looks as if it may be a promising line of study. My question is whether the cancer stem cells are mutated from "ordinary" stem cells.

This is a matter of significant debate (and argument.) The various theories include mutated adult stem, developing stem, developing progenitor, adult progenitor, or mutated developed cells that acquire stem-like attributes by de-differentiation. Lots of work to do.
