GNEP, as long as you don't increase yer WMCC (Weapons of Mass Crunching Capacity), I'll increase my lead on you.

But erhm, isn't it time we started some START negotiations? This Crunch Race is a hazard to world peace and our economies.

I'm a bit tight on cash right now, but end feb bonusses should be announced. I might get lucky again. When's the first dual-core CPU's due?

I'll revert to OC my SFF as well, does 6 trickles per 24 hrs, see If I can bump it to 7

GNEP, you reaqlly thinkthatnew puny A64 impresses me? It maxes out at some 3.5 tricks a day. My HT P4 can do 6 :d

Course, the wife won't let me run it 24/7/7, that is a handicap. Why should you be able to run your WMC projects uninspected wheras I can not?

In any case, I did some othe rrunching and now estimate it to take almost exaclty half a year, 182 days to be precise, for us to reach #20. Any WMCC increases realised somewhere over the last 7 days have not been fully taken into account, so it might be a bit faster, but others may increase their effort as well, so that is yet unclear.

Of course not... it's a bit of an experiment for other reasons - quiet and size - (passive PSU, v. v. v. slow CPU fan (CNPS 7000) and no other fans, and a diamondmax 10 hdd which I have been pleasantly surprised with in terms of idle and seek noise, especially when suspended on elastic). Unfortunately there's a frikking northbridge fan as stock which I will have to dig into my box of old heatsinks to replace as it's the only noisy component in there. It's under the graphics slot though so a bit of hacksaw work is called for.

Still, at least the graphics card is silent - it's an old PCI S3 Virge

When I have identified the desired PCIe graphics card (probably some form of 6600GT but the question is passive stock or a bit of modification later?) it will be a complete machine.

As such, during the initial stress-testing phase it'll be on 24/7. And given that I was only doing about 4 trickles per day TOTAL before, an extra 3.5 is quite an increase.

I plan on adding a P4 2.0GHz to replace a 400 MHz K6III. I swapped drives yesterday and got an error that there wasn't enough memory to run windows. Have to sort that out and then start crunching.

Good planning I must say I'm pretty jealous of yer WMCC, but not of your electricity bill.

Well, High Jumbllama passed me, and I think it won't be that long before RC Agent also passes me.
As far as the team goes

But it does mean I'll be out of the top 10...

GNEP, you might consider updating the link on CPDN to MURC.

OK, team URL has now been updated at the CPDN side. Takes a little while to filter through to all the right places

BTW we're getting pretty close to position #29!

                        Go MURC!

Well, I ain't quite as big as HJ is. I'm just desperately trying to keep ahead of GNEP, if it that means I have to pass you by, I will.

Did some more crunching and we're on a roll, as the table below should show. We are #29 now, the table shows how many days it will tkae to reach a certain position. We'll max out at #14 as it is now, whihc is just 13 spots short of where we want to be .
