Over 5 million model years completed

the climateprediction.net project has now completed over 5 million model years, with 70,000 completed standard runs. The project is going from strength to strength, with nearly 35,000 trickling machines - more than ever before!

Thanks again to all our participants,

    The climateprediction.net team.

Kewl. I still wonder whether Paddy will ever get into the game though, and I've noticed some of us are crunching slower or quit completely, which is a shame.

Meanwhile, I am 18th of my country. Anyone of our team got that far?

Hmmm it would seem I have just made it into the UK top 100 at #100. But I'm still climbing following my addition of the 3rd machine...

Well, then it comes to country-stats, AFAIK started at #1 in CPDN, but have now dropped to... hmm... #8 by RAC and #13 by total...

Atleast the RAC seems to be too high, most likely due to the "extra-crediting" sometimes gets after finishing a model, and is later corrected in total credit but not in RAC...

You are not going to believe this, but I'm alos 18th of my country.
            (don't say: 'Poor country...' !)

I think have had a higher rank once, but have dropped some places with my home computer out of commision. I do intend to get it back up (probabely next week), I'm still configuring software (and making images of various steps for fast restore in the future).

I've slowed down for a few days, partly because one machine had trouble downloading a new model to get to work on, and also because I am working on getting my new machine (a) very quiet and (b) into a new small case. Currently having trouble fitting a ghetto-tastic passive chipset heatsink (from my box of random old heatsinks ) that still allows the graphics card to sit happily.

                  I've just added another machine.
interesting to note, my old 2.4G RDRAM 400fsb box is about 15% quicker than my just aquired 2.7 Ghz 800fsb machine.
Yeah, well I'm gonna build my own lunar space lander! With blackjack aaaaannd Hookers! Actually, forget the space lander, and the blackjack. Ahhhh forget the whole thing!

Impressive. How much $$$ to add another 256MB RD??? Not such good value me thinks.

I haven't quit, just been having a break.

Update: I was on holiday for a few weeks in Jan, have just moved house and have had no connection at home for the last month, as such no crunching.

My cable connection is being installed tomorrow (if NTL can finally manage it, OMG! they are crap) so I should be back and crunching by the weekend.

I feel kinda bad about passing people, but I keep telling myself that it's OK cause I'm doing it for the TEAM. I feel extra bad about passing my fellow canucks (zokes and gt40) but I won't be crunching with such enthusiasm for long. I'll be losing an IBM xSeries 225 that I've been playing with on the test bench (Actually I just installed boinc on it and let it rip a couple of weeks back). I'll also be losing a P4 3Ghz box when it replaces an old server at work (no more crunching once it's in place). I'll be down to 4 active machines then instead of the 6 now. I'm sure somebody else can pick up the slack.
