With only one post, I doubt you've taken the time to educate yourself about anything here. VigilAnt has delivered accurate and impressive news many times in the past, and when it was delayed, it was either to clarify or verify a point, or the situation was changing right at that very moment.

I cant see why Matrox wouldn't sell P2 in very limited quantities, if P2 had taped out (and has working drivers) and if it was supreme product. Isn't this exactly what nvidia and ati are doing everytime they release new gpu generation.

Offtopic: Number of posts means nothing - I've been reading MURC for years, just never-ever had a reason to register in forums before. MURC isn't the only site that has hyped something way too early... and propably not the last either.

I don't understand Matrox's investment in warehoused Parhelia 1.0 chips, but wouldn't it make sense to start swallowing their pride and dump the AGP 4X cards onto the market for the price of a Ti4600, and let their AGP 8X card run wild before Christmas? As far as I can tell, they probably can't afford to go into the holiday season with an underperforming card when they COULD concievably have a rock solid performer worthy of the Matrox name out very soon, could they?

I get the impression that the big M is capable of making something happen in the next couple weeks. Tis the season to get your tech to market and laugh all the way to the bank (Go ask Intel, and nV for the last few years).

If it was any other time of the year, I could see a reason to drag feet on the sidewalk. But its the biggest consumer period of the year!! (are these the management mistakes we have been talking about?)

Personally, I think they should just eat their mistakes with the 1.0 cards that so many of us have and move on to the revision and RMA all the 1.0 cards. That banding is rediculous - now that I've seen it in Morrowind when the sky is bright, it really pisses me off - and if they have fixed it in revisions, then we should be gettin those. We didn't pay 400 bucks for a MATROX card with such a stupid problem.
