But if that was ownerless one...
Here there is some number of them.

This whole thing reminds me about one weird thing that happened couple years ago - we've found one little kitten in the center of road (between lines going in different direction). Good thing nobody was overtaking somebody in that place for some time apparently.
Feeding it wasn't easy thing to do, but at some point it was doable.
Too bad kitten was clearly sick

Which led us to think. Is it possible that mother left him there?
    Probably some people anyway.

Where my parents live lives a cat that likes crossing a big street. But it always waits on one side until some humans come by who also want to cross the street, then crosses together with them

BTW, there's a funny review of a kitten over at Dan's Data

We have Presidents like Berlusconi, though

I was driving through a village road the other day and a cat was ambling across the road without a care in the world and was blissfully unaware that 1200 kg of mini-SUV was bearing down on it at 60 kmh. At about 10 m from it, I honked, thinking it would accelerate its perambulation towards the side of the road. None of it! It jumped vertically about 80 cm or so, presumably out of surprise), did a complete somersault at its apogee, landed gracefully on all four paws and scarpered like hell. It looked exactly like something from a Tom and Jerry film. My daughter and I were so helpless with laughter for 3 or 4 minutes, I had to stop the car. I do wish I'd been able to film it.

I'm a dog person myself. I really hate the inconsiderate people that let any otheir animals wander aorund. There's a dog that walks along the street I use to live on. SOmehow he has managed to survive. I've almost hit him a couple of times myself. He's very short and hard to see at night. His owners refuse to lock him up. I am glad to say that he looks to have lived a large number of years. He has gotten real smart and will look for cars. He's been very lucky.

how many of you have lived on a farm with a few cats.
                gets cold in Canada.
kittens/cats like the warmth of a radiator.
when you start the car, a large fan in the front of the rad goes round and round.
they are usually sliced cleanly as long as your fan blades are metal, and you don't have a fan clutch.

I lived on a farm with 3 cats, and spent most of my winter days sneezing

During decent weather I was outta there or doing chores....

I am quite allergic to cats myself, but I do love them above any other animal.

We have farm cats. The trick is to keep them around the farmyard with just enough food provided, and then the rats provide the rest

I actually enjoy that smell. Was downstairs last night on the computer. All the windows were o-pened as was the patio door upstairs. A skunk sprayed something. Wasn't too far away. It's strong but clean. Now I'm sure having your car sprayed and smelling for a few weeks would be pretty bad but a little skunk smell in the air on a summer night is kind of...nice.

We lost a cat that way. Didn't kill him right away though. Just tore off one of his back legs (probably got caught in a belt, not the fan). The neighbor (who's engine he was sleeping in) had to chase him across the yard to catch him. He called my mom at work, and she met him at the vets, where he was put to sleep. I'm glad I was away at university when that happened, because I probably would have lost my lunch...

I am also not offended by skunk smell. It's not really a bad smell at all if it isn't right on you.. then it's just strong. The people I think are nuts are those who smoke, yet think skunks smell bad. Cigarette smoke is the most nasty smell on Earth. Worse than an open sewer or a dead body even. Other smells can be stronger, like lime-away or ammonia in a closed bathroom, or the aforementioned dead body, but cigarettes just smell the nastiest by far.
