As an ex-smoker I really enjoy that smell also. The smell of the smoke fresh off the cigarette. Not the stale smell some people get after smoking. That's horrid.

I happen to think likewise, as an ex-smoker. Though when it's hot, cigarette smell is really annoying.

Cold smoke is horrible though.

We also had a fair population of black rat snakes, which run up to 8.5 feet in length here in Michigan, and they did a great job of ratting. The only problem was once in a while they'd try to take a small cat instead....



Another good ratter is the blue racer, which gets up to 7+ feet;



The black rat and blue racer are the largest snakes in Michigan, but not the most dangerous though both will strike if provoked. That's reserved for our local species of rattlesnake which only runs about 3 feet.
