Yes, that was the easy part: it's a lighthouse. It has a name, a city and a country. I'll give a clue: it is on a peninsula that forms part of a natural harbour which is where the main port is built. The country is one merged from two other countries.Brian (the devil incarnate)

Well, you would be close, if you consider that taking a 5 or 6 hour flight in a commercial aircraft would be very short haul
I can even say wrong hemisphere!
