Hello Everyone. This is my first post here and I hope I've got the right forum and right thread.

I recently bought a G400 Dual as well as a RR-G and while the video card is spectacular, I'm really disappointed with the RR-G's video capture (in)ability. It doesn't maintain colour, loses sync between video and audio and is generally not behaving as well as the Hauppauge capture card I have in another computer. It also crashes the system at times and/or locks it.

The drivers that came with the RR-G didn't recognise the G400 drivers so I updated both from the Matrox site to Video tools 1.51.024
    and Powerdesk 5.30.007

I am located in Australia so I'm set up for PAL rather than NTSC. I have a PIII-500 and LVD SCSI drives so speed isn't an issue. I am trying to use Media Studio Pro 5.2.

Does anyone have any advice or should I simply remove the card? I think I've done everything by the book and I have run out of things to try.

    Thanks in advance

      Hi DAS,

Have you checked the Idiots Guides and Tips & Tricks sections on http://idiots-guide.matroxusers.com/ ?

If those don't help, could you post your system specs (everything your system has swallowed, with the IRQ assignments and the operating system).

        DAS,

You have definitely come to the right place. Pertti has good advice. If you still have problems after checking out the Tips and Tricks, it would be a good idea to start a new thread to get the attention of more people. The RR-G is a good card. Let the people here have a crack at helping you to figure out how to get the card working as it should.

        Good luck.

          I have a RRG AGAIN!!!!
After a month I told the retailer to shove it!
And got the last one in stock from another company!
          It dident work!
After a litle detective work i found out that the coaxial and composit conectors made contact with the backplate of the RRG and somehow shorted it out!
          Well....
At first i thought that it was some weird glitch theni isolated the inconectors with tape ant tomorow i will make an new backplate that doesent go near the input connectors!

Thanks for the advice, people. Tips & tricks were interesting but didn't help, at least not with that problem. Learned a lot of other stuff, though!

Look out for the new thread.
