Well if anyone wants these files, I have a site here (thanks to Peter Tower for providing the link) http://home.planet.nl/~editor/website1001.htm

where you can all download all the files etc. If u can't get it from here then let me know you can always get it from me via my ftp

        Enjoy,

Sadly I have had little success with this technique.

When I loaded WINXP it decided I had a G400 card without TV and that was all I was allowed to have.
I have attempted all the above techniques to no avail.
The 2.04 does not complete its loading - it says it was interrupted - then neither of the reg files will add to my registry either.

I did on one attempt actually get video tools to load up and display (normally it says something about not wanting to run in 4 bit mode!)

The fix above does not allow the TV card to function at all anyway - which for me is one of the great advantages of the card. It just allows the G400 part to run.

Any help would be greatfully received.

          Cheers

If you get the "interrupted" message, you've been trying to install the Installshield version of the vidtools, as provided by Matrox. If you download the vidtools from my homepage, http://home.planet.nl/~editor, you get a Wise version, which shouldn't be interrupted by XP, that is, if you install the lot with administrator rights. Maybe your problem could be related to the fact that XP identifies your card as a standard G400, instead of a Marvel G400 TV.

Could this be a dejavu or is this a new post i've seen reply's of 2001 and 2002 but anyway the thing that works for me on XP is mostly the same as above but instead of installing G400 tv drivers instal the G500 XP-divers with help of .inf correction found in forum this will enable ALL (except mjpeg) functions in XP.

If there is a solid way to enable mjpeg in XP i'd like to know

                Hi everyone,

I am new on the forum and I hope someone will be able to help me.

I have been forced to upgrade to winXP because of other hardware problems.
The other problem is solved, but now I cannot use my marvel G400 TV.

I have already tried applying the files you suggested in this topic,
I could install the video tools, but I cannot update the register, because the key I have to look for... is not there

Is that key from win xp or win2k?

Has anyone a clue of what I could do? Any other key?

                Thanks in advance everyone!

                Erika

personally, I've never had the installer interrupted problem, I have even done a clean install and installed with VT_210a just fine. YUV captures only. RGB capture has never worked for me under W2k / XP regardless of VT version.

                    Tsuby

The problem is not that I cannot capture, I just cannot setup the card.

The card is not recognized as TV, but as G400 simply.

The videotools are installed, but I cannot use them until I manage to update the windows registry. But it seems that I am not allowed to do so, neither as admin nor as simple user.

Thanks in advance for any help!

well, I installed the 581 driver package from here ftp://ftp.matrox.com/pub/mga/archive...01/w2k_581.exe

You have to edit a line as this package doesnt officially support the G400TV and does have a bug where if you have DVDMAX enabled it will BSOD when you try to vidcap. Aside from that it works for me and even says you have a G400TV in the display properties information page.

I've attached the .inf file (as a .txt rename it to .inf) , just run the exe, let it extract and throw the inf file into the resulting directory where setup.exe is. then run setup.exe. It should install and call your card a G450eTV

This is all I have done, and it works with YUV captures. Now I have two capture cards in my PC and can capture two shows at once

I am at work right now (well... I am supposed to be working ), so I'll have to try this when I get home for lunch, but I'm sure it will work.

Thank you very much for the support!

Dr P YOU ARE THE BEST

                          DR P Rocks!!!!!!

It may not be allowed but this is the only way I can thank you Dr P for the solution that has been gnawing a hole in my side for days since I "upgraded" to Win XP.

I followed your suggestion and installed
                          ftp://ftp.matrox.com/pub/mga/archive...01/w2k_581.exe

Then I copied over and renamed g450.txt to g450.inf

Then I downloaded vt_210.exe - the video tools to go with it.

And VOILA I am all go again!!!

                          YOU ARE THE BEST

THANKS - If you are ever downunder come by for a drink

                          A very grateful

Any way this might work in XP for the G200-TV?
I would really like to vid cap and view TV cable on winXP with my G200-TV.

                            Thanks,
                            JD

Really don't know joed99, I have no experience with a G200 at all. Try downloading the latest driver package from Matrox's site. You might have to do an .inf edit to make it install with the G200. Then try VT210a.exe. Worst it can do is crash your PC causing you to reload.

                                Dear all,

for me, 5.82 drivers and 2.10a video tools work with the
above mentioned security change on the registry and the
.reg file perfectly: means tv and capture!
