    Jerry,

Well, it's a sure bet that anything is still possible at this stage of the game with this problem. I've only latched onto the Macrovision situation as an explanation because it's present as a pretty glaring part of the problem. Copy protection responses in the hardware I have just don't suddenly turn on by themselves, there does have to be a component in the video stream for it to get triggered. This may not necessarily be the presence of an actual, bona fide digital Macrovision "tag" on the stream coming off the timeline, but merely an unforeseen result of some other chance combination of bits to the camcorder at timeline playback startup.

Nonetheless, this triggering is clearly happening and it needs to be fixed. Once the copy protection can be made to NOT trigger, we'll then find out if there is anything else to this problem. I suspect that all the rest of the problem with disappear, once the copy protect triggering is eliminated.

Patrick, you instigator! ...by the way, I really enjoy watching those Red Sox / Blue Jays games lately. (I live 30 miles west of Boston's Fenway Park)

Jeff, I live about 3000 miles west of Toronto's Skydome!

I was in Mexico several months after Toronto had won the World Series the second time. When one of the local fellas realized I was from Canada, he came over and started congratulating me about the "bluyahs". At first I didn't know what the heck he was talking about. Then I remembered that the letter "J" is not pronounced in Spanish and that he was actually saying "Blue Jays"! He was quite astonished when I informed him that many people from the west coast of Canada aren't all that interested in a team from the other side of the continent. (Sorry Elie!)

See that, Patrick? I'm wrong! Now you know the secret behind my always being able to remain calm: constant failure.

Nah. It's because you have a sense of humor. That was obvious from "Hair Clip".
