From regulary using the forum here I get the impression there are better capture software than the remote that comes bundled with the Matrox cards.
I've used virtualdub in the past (but not for capture) and gave it a go last night.
At the highest resolution on an average compression setting I got 25% frame loss with virtualdub and zero with the Matrox remote, all using the same settings.
Being a novice I'm sure there are very good reasons for using virtual dub over matrox remote, but could anyone shed any light as to why I'm getting such horrendous frame loss with virtualdub?
Thanks,
Will
