Not all Ivans are hulking brutes!
Deep is not the root word of depression.

Hey, I admire all the people at forums such as this who manage very well to use English when it's not their first language. The last thing I want is for any of these people to think that I'm being critical of their efforts.

I understood it Patrick. I didn't think that you meant my english. But in despite of that I know my english is not an "Oxford" one. My experience is internet, sw/hw manulas only. And it seems to be not enough.
(it doesn't seems to be enought???, sounds better isn't it?)

As I've seen on SONY your camcorder already has an analog recording capability.
Is it DVin and analog-in enabled?
If yes you'll need to find a bit on PageD that disables(if already enabled) DVin and change it safely (NO store, NO checksum calculated) in cam's "RAM" only. Then if you plug cable to DVin/out it doesn't switch to DVin and remains in analog-in mode (while capturing analog to DV out in realtime). It works on model '99 Digital8 that way.
