I haven't seen any problems with the eTV system yet, but I'll doublecheck it later this afternoon.
Sorry, but I spend a lot of time testing video stuff with the Parhelia system

My guess is they will port some more After Effects features and effects rather than include it, like previous upgrades. I can't see Photoshop, their Flagship being included either, why should they, isn't Premiere cheaper than After Effects and Photoshop as well?
Still I did recieve this e-mail form the local Pinnacle distributer this week:
" Pinnacle has released their new Platinum version of ProOne RTDV which includes Four award winning software, namely Pinnacle Commotion 4.1, Holltwood FX pro, Impression DVD Pro and full Adobe premiere 6.5"
They key inclusion is Commotion which compeats with After Effects I believe, cheaper than the RTX100 too. Now if the RTX100 came bundled with After Effects that would be very tempting...

They have bundled Photoshop LE with Premiere in the past.
I too wouldn't be suprised at AE features making their way into Premiere either, but if they add too many realtime features it can break two ways;
1. make it easier to develop realtime hardware cards
2. piss off the realtime card makers by making them redundent
As for an AE bundle, you can get that with the Parhelia display card. $799 for both;
http://www.matrox.com/mga/products/p...obe_bundle.cfmKey features of Matrox Parhelia for Adobe After Effects:
*Dual-display + TV-output increases desktop real estate while enabling the highest-quality, full-screen previews on NTSC or PAL monitors/TVs.
*WYSIWYG plug-in for Adobe After Effects provides full-screen preview of your creations on a video display so you can easily check for safe title area, proper color temperature and any interlacing artifacts.
*Realtime Display Color Adjustment lets you independently adjust proc-amp controls- hue, saturation, brightness, and contrast- for the TV display.
*UltraSharp Display Output Technology ensures the highest-quality analog, digital and TV output for RGB and video using advanced electronics and filters.Last edited by Dr Mordrid; 26 February 2003, 12:35.Dr. Mordrid

@Peter.
Hi,
I come from the Pinnacle Stable so to speak. Having used all DV and PRO-One variations for years now, I think I have some experience with their products.
Commotion, no doubt, is brilliant. By far one of the best products in Pinnacle's product range. I don't know it remotely as good as I want it, but even the small level of experience I have with it got me very usable results.
The Pro=One however can prove to be a can of worms, especially for the Pal user : I've never ever read about this issue in any "test" on the net, but the Pro-One has a serious problem called "the gradient issue". Without going into detail, it results is *terrible footage* under certain circumstances. It seems this problem is limited to the PAL users only, and if memory doesn't fail me, NZ is PAL area.
There are a couple of other issues *a pixel shift problem when doing slo-mo for example* which clutter the overal picture of the Pinnacle card.
HFX may or may not be something for you. If you've got the audiance that likes this kind of effects, it's a very fast and powerful box of toys. Me, I rarely use it, if at all, though I dabbled with it a couple of times. Think of it as "Canopus Xplode Pro on Steroids" if you'd have to compare it with other software.
Impressions Pro still remains my favorite DVD authoring program : I found it to be stable, fast, and easy to use for the simple projects I need.
But there's no doubt in my mind the RTx.100 is in another league. If this would be F1, you could call the RTx.100 a Ferrari 2002, and a Pinnacle card a Mclaren. Both will cross the finish line, but not necesserally during the same lap !
Take Care,
Kris

Ok... at what point do you have to render?
Does it do RT slo-mo?
RT Reverse?
RT Fast mo?
RT color correction?
Can it manipulate RT in 3D? Such as titles / graphics and video?
Can it out put RT to NTSC monitor?
It looks very good as far as I can see.... although I would have to learn the interface.
~Thanks
