Hiya guys!
In the five years or so that I have been at MURC, I think this is my second post in this forum
As some of you may know, I got married two weeks ago. Today the wedding video arrived. And it’s pretty poor. The guy performed all the editing on the camera, and only used a PC to create a rather cheezy looking splash screen.
For example, the video is essentially a selection of short clips spliced together. Now the video itself isn't that bad, however the audio also jumps ever 10seconds or so when the camera changes 'angle'. It is especially noticeable when there is music in the background. After 10mins or so it gets really annoying.
I don't want to offend my wife’s parents as they footed the bill for this, so I am trying to tread carefully. I would, however, like to make it less tacky and more... personal.
I intend to include a slideshow of the photographs, entries from the guest book and cards and some memorabilia from the honeymoon. I might even be tempted to record a second audio track where I can offer a commentary. Nothing that I haven’t already seen done.
I have never undertaken a project like this before The video is on DVD so getting the audio/video tracks aren't going to be a problem. But as for the rest, I am not really sure how to proceed. I don't really know what to expect. I know that DVD authoring can be a right PITA.
I am open to suggestions!
What software would you guys suggest for the various stages in creating this project?
Are there any pitfalls that I should be aware of?
I am not after a 'how-to', simply a list of what works and what doesn't
(this seems like an ideal opportunity to go out an buy a DVD writer )
