Matrox cannot/will not help and referred me to desktopvideoworld, but that link is down. Maybe somebody in this forum has a solution.
Here is what I wanted to do and what happened using Avi_IO:
I wanted to capture in SVCD compliant format. So after I captured with 704x480 and HuffYUV w/o a problem, I changed the format in Capture Settings to 480x480, leaving everything else unchanged. When starting the capture, but before a single frame is captured, I get a message window named "Copyright Information" with the following message: "Copy protection is detected in the current video source. Your Matrox product doesn't let you record video from a copy-protected source."
When I switch back to 704x480 I still get the same copy protection message. I have to close Avi_io and reload it to make it work again with 704x480.
What is the problem?
I am trying to capture with S-video from a Hi8 Sony tape deck (EV-S5000) using my own tapes. Nothing special and nothing copy protected anywhere in sight.
