I've still not got my F300. The mail people here at work have now decided it is officially "lost" and it was probably their fault, so are going to order me another one...

GNEP: The Z1 is out, you might want to consider that one - not as pocketable, but still easy to use, 10x zoom and VERY fast AF.

I think if they reorder it they will get me exactly the same model - so probably no choice there...
Although the plot gets thicker... have just spoken to one of our office "Mail Services Customer Relations" people, and she was saying that they have had other problems with Parcel Force recently, like packages being delivered open/bits missing/damaged etc. I think I will just let them deal with it - sometimes it's nice to work for a v. large company that carries some weight when dealing with other companies - they start to listen if Shell throws its weight around, even if it is only about a personal package...DM says: Crunch with Matrox Users@ClimatePrediction.net

Nice cam
Was thinking about buying it, but the hand grip was too bug, my fingers couldn't fit around it. So I spent even more money and got the Dimage 7i. Even my girlfriend has thanked me for buying the cam in spite of us not really being able to afford it

Just ordered myself a Fuji Finepix S7000. I wonder how long it will take for me to get used too it compaired to the S304S. At least the 7000 does have a manual focus which I hope will help in gloomy conditions.

Heh, since this thread is still around I thought maybe I'd update my kit. It took me a lot longer to get my camera than I expected, but I finally have it. Got it about a week and a half before Thanksgiving.
Current setup:
Canon EOS 10D
Canon EOS Rebel Xs (film backup)
Canon 28-135 f3.5-5.6 IS USM
Canon 35-80 cheap kit lens
Sigma 70-300 f4-5.6
Canon Speedlite 200E
various bags, tripods, batteries, etc.
The 70-300 is currently in for an upgrade. It's a very early model of the Canon EF mount and isn't compatible with the 10D so it's being 'rechipped'. Shortly after the new year I'm going to pick up a Canon 100 f2.8 Macro USM or possibly a Canon 75-300 f4-5.6 IS USM depending on how well my Sigma performs when I get it back. We shall see, first I need to pay off my car and the inevitable Christmas expenses.
