I don't think it has a dedicated mode for that, but if you have a TV card you can connect the cam's video out to the TV card's video in and thus use it as a webcam
I don't know how well it would fit that role though.
I don't think the S50 has a dedicated webcam mode either.

hmm... to be honest... i would really like the F300, and as it is not my money, i will proably go for it. If it were my money, i would probably be tempted to wait a bit longer....The Welsh support two teams when it comes to rugby. Wales of course, and anyone else playing England

See, if you would really like it, the decision's always been made, and it's not the worst choice you could make
I expect some pictures from you in this forum soon, then

The webcam question is often asked on other forums as well. General tendency is: "Why lessen the lifetime of an expensive camera when you can get the same functionality (perhaps even better, as very few cameras support USB-video streaming) with a very cheap dedicated webcam ?"
Of course, if you only intend to use it once in a while it doesn't matter that much.

Camera purchased from Comet online. £314.88 + £3.95P&P.
Arrives Saturday.
As the camera comes with a 64MB SD card, I will need to buy another plus some more batteries. Oh and a charger.
What additional accessories should i consider??? I guess a soft case would be a good idea.
Any one from the UK suggest a good place to get any/all of this kit?The Welsh support two teams when it comes to rugby. Wales of course, and anyone else playing England

I think you covered the basics:
case, batteries/charger and storage...
Additionally, a tripod may be handy (I mostly use mine next to my desk, to avoid having to put the camera on the desk when it is connected; but of course some times it is needed).
Perhaps some compact cardreader : when not using the cards for photography, they double as "portable storage". You can use your camera for that, but a plain card reader is smaller. (+ if you go USB2 it is faster than transferring with the camera)
Finally, a photomodel ? (but I gather you already have that ) (why is there no "jealous-smiley" ?)

I think with SD the brand's not as important as with CF (because CF cards contain their own controller, SD don't AFAIK), still I'd always get a brand name card. I think you don't have to look out for different speeds, because the controller is inside the cam, not the card.
I'd suggest getting the cheapest real brand card you can find.

I like the look of the Olympos C740 Ultra zoom 10X optical zoom and £360 from Komplett.co.uk. One I'll keep in mind perhaps later this year.
