I have a Pentium 266 and 160 megs of ram and a voodoo2 on one pc and it rocks. Online and off it has exellent preformance with unreal tournament and other demanding games. I now also have a PIII 1GHz with 256Mb of 133 ram and a voodoo3 which freezes is jerky and is close to unplayable with these type of games. This was also a problem with my AMD k-6 400 with 320Mb PC100 ram and the same card. I have also mix and matched the voodoo cards with no change in preformance. Does anybody have solutions or suggestions?

I'll look into chipset drivers(are these for proccesser or MB chipset?)

Doesn't that SIS chipset have built-in vid? Hopefully you have it disabled wile trying to run the VooDoo3. The tip-off is you say '240 Meg of RAM'. If the on-board SIS is disabled, then you should be reporting 256MB of RAM.

well I can't see an irq for your voodoo3 in your list which may account for your game playing problems.

It could also be graphic configs for the game itself. For example in Half-Life there are numerous configs that are "behind the scenes" that need the user to open them up in notepad and do some editing to get the best performance. So someone with a nice system, but bad config (for the system) might not do as well as someone who tweaked their config to their system specs. I know that HL has sites that help with tweaking, but not sure about UT and others.

the big macine has the voodoo2 the 266 has the voodoo3

the voodoo3 is in the 266 and the voodoo2 is in the 1000 but I have swiched this with no effect to either system

Put the V3 in the 1giger and figure out to disable the SIS. Perhaps you can't

There is no mystery there is only SIS!

Even if it can't be disabled in bios it IS stil possible to do it in system manager in windows!

Does the blue 15 pin vga(female) connector sit besides the green 9(male) serial connector?

Argh! C-media sound card! Disable that and try again. Try with a creative live or a 128 if you can.
You may well be better off binning that mainboard though and getting one with a proper chipset
