    Try for yourself.
Someday, we'll look back on this, laugh nervously and change the subject.

If you want to download the IE6 files for later install, just download ie6setup.exe and make a batch file with:

      ie6setup /c:"ie6wzd.exe /d /s:""#E"""

as the content. It will let you choose Win98, WinME, Win2K, WinXP and what not.

Edit: He, it may have said NT and not XP

I have had a share of running on an unstable machine for the past 4 days, i'll skip out on the Upgrade for a while until i hear the feedback ! so watcha guys say about IE6 ?

Can't remember exactly, but it was regarding downloading IE5.5.
I had the batch file saved from that time and I just switched the relevant version numbers and it worked nicely for me.
You could try via start->run and browse to the folder where you saved the ie6setup.exe and just add the switches.

              Found some info:
http://forums.murc.ws/showthread.php?s=&threadid=27670 by DosFreak with some slightly different switches.

              Ahh here it is:
http://forums.murc.ws/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8412 again by DosFreak pointing to a thread on ntcompatible

Ah it works now but falls over when it tries to download the media player. Looks like I'm stuffed for now.

Here in Denmark I had some problems with the "prior 2 gold"
                      leaked version of I.E 6 .

                      1. Couldn't use webmail ... log in at a home-page setup by my ISP and then simply supply my email-adr. and my password.

                      2. Couldn't use Homebanking with I.E 6 ... connect to my bank and do money transfers and account managment etc.

I was told by my ISP ( TDC KabelTV ) that I.E 6 did have some issues with the above mentioned things and that their ( TDC webmail ) developers was looking for a way around it as they expected I.E 6 to become the most used browser.

So for now I'm sticking with I.E 5.5 SP2 which works great with the above mentioned things.
