While i have no doubts that the 0.13 micron version will allow higher clock frequency operation,the question remains just how high can AMD clock it at and in what time frame as well.
If indeed intel releases a 3 ghz p4 before the end of the year,i believe that AMD would need at least a 2.3~ 2.4 ghz part(actual clock speed) to compete with the p4 and that's without considering the faster FSB and memory that the 3 ghz p4 will use too.
Anyone here believe that AMD can increase the clock speed of the athlon by another 700~800 mhz before the end of next year,even at 0.13 micron?.....
I have doubts about it since that means they would need to introduce new chips roughly every 4 weeks(in 66 mhz clock frequency increases).
