I use a Kensington Optical Mouse-In-A-Box Pro and it works great. I know they specialize in trackballs, but this pro version which has 4 buttons + scroll was $15 cheaper than the MS equiv and I couldn't find a Logitech (which I prefer) version. What I really like is IBM mice with the 3 extra buttons on the thumb, but they don't make optical versions, I think.

Tom I have that mouse. I found that the ball supplied with it seemed to be a light-weight, low-density ball that deteriorated over time. I swapped it for a standard grey mouse ball, which makes the mouse noticeably heavier, but movement is smooth as silk one more.

Acutally, I quite like my Kensington Expert Mouse...
(which is in fact... a trackball: large ball, 4 buttons, symmetrical layout - convenient, as I use it with my left hand)

Do someone has the mouse with the force feedback?
            (cannot remeber the name...)

            Is it funny?

Drizzt: Youre talking about the Logitech iFeel-Mouse which vibrates, right? We (me & my GF) gave one of those to a friend of us as a birthday present, she is very happy with it....

Actually she talked about the buttons in windows dialogue boxes....

I have one of those Kensingtons at work. It was good for about a couple months, but the buttons have gone south on it.

I've seen good reviews of those, Lizzy.

It also has a partner for the left hand.

I've Used the four otpical mice...
                        -IntelliEye Explorer V1.0
                        -Logitech Dual Optical
                        -Kensignton Mouse in a Box
                        -Intellieye Explorer V3.0

The best for tracking and is the Intellieye V3.0 no other optical mouse I've tried works better than the MS Explorer V3.0 none of the others would track well enough to allow me to do a 360 degree jump spin (not that it is used for any reason but it shows the tracking capabilities of the sensor). that rocket jump sky thing that was mentioned above is exactly what I'm talcking about. When I had any of the other mice they would do exactly that, a quick flick of the wriste and then I was looking at the sky. With the Explorer V3.0 I just can't for the life of me get that thing to miss a beat.

If anyone is going to spend $80.00 CND or more on a mouse I would say the only choice for gamers is the Explorer v3.0 (you have to make sure it is Version 3.0 and nothing else)
What was the error? Well its the ID10T error.

The logitech mouse flees good on the comfort level but it sux when your trying to spin and aim at the sky then die because you have to move your mouse slower so that it can track properly.

I had tracking problems with the single optic Logitech, but haven't with the dual optical.

Flick it quick from left to right as fast as you can in a game and tell me that it doesn't miss-track a bit... or better yet back and forth as fast as you can do it and then tell me it misses or not... With Explorer V3.0 it does not at all. That is point I'm trying to make, I love my dual optical for precision but I love my explorer for tracking and precision. I still use my dual optical for my server system (1.3GHz Duron 512MB Ramd 40 GB).
