hmm wonder if it will help the P out at all
Why is it called tourist season, if we can't shoot at them?

don´t know, but there has been talk about adding displacement mapping and depth adaptive tesselation to dx8.

Looks like one file now does all OSes - is that the only change?

            Installed it on W2K machine.

Is it in fact new or just a redistribution package??? - DXdiag still reports version 8.1 (4.08.01.901).

The install process also gives the option "re-install DirectX" iso the expected "update" or "upgrade"

Cant see any change in the behaviour of the e450TV or the Miro DV Plus or the DV500 - all still running as before and as expected

Installing this version on my Win98SE machine which already had DX8.1 installed changed the DX from 4.08.01.0881 to 4.08.01.0901

Feels like an extra couple of bunnies under the hood now.

I've tried the Windows Update (2000 at work, XP at home), both are portuguese - and still no new directx for me.

I also got the "immediate success" installation, and my version number hasn't changed (810->810).
