      Installed WA3 today.

      Like: funny startup logo
Dislike: staring at that logo for 20 seconds during startup

      Like: super-configurable playlist
Dislike: (trying) to configure the rest of WA via <em>two</em> nebulous buttons in the top left corner

Last straw: keyboard shortcuts from WA2 don't work

Result: 5 minutes before hitting the <a href="http://www.danciprari.com/images/worldtrip/india/in-pow-jsm-amar-sager-trash-bin-600.jpg" title="haha">bin</a>, nice try

Looking forward to WinAMP<em>4</em> -- maybe Justin can improve it as much as the Moz team improved Netscape7.

Nope, though I guess it's possible to have a conversion program. Apparently though the Player/Equalize skins are seperate from the playlist editor skins. There are some bugs. I did manage to get it to crash though I can't reproduce it and the volume control does not work yet nor the shuffle function, but after all it is a prerelease.

I got rid of it. Too much pain from Winamp3. Winamp3, you go squish now!

I shall call in my patented 10' Barge PoleTM, not to touch it with, but to give myself a proper distance with... I shall NOT be using WinAmp 3... sorry Nullsoft, 2.80 shall remain!

that was my 3 cents, but I'm feeling generous, keep the change
Look, I know you think the world of me, that's understandable, you're only human, but it's not nice to call somebody "Vain"!

I think WA3 has potential, and I hope they've got the bugs sorted out by 3.20 or so - and the performance, and scrollbars that change size with the size of the list, and general feeling & usability.

They finally released it officially. It's the same P.O.S. in the link. Horribly broken and mangled add ed superfluous tech and destroying what quality there was.

                Added:
Arrrggghhh. It sucks so bad. Jumping tracks is delayed by some crossfading bull that takes 3 to 5 seconds. It reports supposedly anonymous usage statistics by default! You can turn off the crossfading, but you have to close and restart Winamp to turn it off, but not to turn it on ?

Tried it again because they made it official, but it is the same P.O.S.

                Added:
The visualization displaying loading text as it loads another part of itself. WHy! And as Gurm typed. The tinny sound. Arrrggghhh! I guess I am glutton for punishment from my years as a software beta tester.

The thing with the anonymous user statistics was there with 2.xx, too. At least with the later ones.

No Az, the point is it no longer asks you. It just turns it on and you have to go hunt it down and turn it off.

                      Oh, yes - you're right

But I think (hope) things like this will get sorted out as WA3 advances. This really was no final version - they should just have called it beta 4. Hasn't changed all that much from beta 3 anyway.

They could have compiled old code into the new version. I've seen it happen! Maybe not, but it sure looks like it.

                        Another bug:
Returning from a screensaver can cause the player to become undocked. Arialbots seperate!

Came to mind when I saw winamp split into the player, equalizer nd playlist editor.

Hey, look at the following line in manifest.ini:

                              ServerAddress0 = 1, "http://talkback.netscape.com/spiral-bin/Collector.dll"

I guess it can be plinked out but it appears the corporate/AOL factor has finally started to take Winamp down into hell.
