Now seriously is it that bad?? At least my impression from my current board is very positive.
Actually I was so happy with it I bought a BX6ver2 for my PC at home.
Well for the most part Abit BX440 boards are pretty decent, though they use Crappy Caps on them. My BH6 gave up the ghost after 3 years because of this.
Why is it called tourist season, if we can't shoot at them?

Ditto here Scott, totally agree

Their caps are crap. There are a few websites who which cater specifically to cap replacement on Abit boards, which I might add fixes them right up.

I've never managed to build a machine from one store. Even now, I know I couldn't get everything from one vendor. When you know exactly what you want in a system, you need more than one channel.
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

Hmm, according to this:

The Placer will be the E7507. But yes, it has moved in the roadmap to Q4/02.

myself being a gamer would go for an o/c p4 2.8, its much better for games than a dual or even quad cpu machine, although 4 cpus would be nice
