Ive almost finished morrowind.... it is simply a brilliant single player adventure game....

there is so much detail in it - such a rich history......

and there is a sequel too!

due out any time, I think...... It bummed out of the charts here in no time the last time

Oh yes... The intro music that Amiga (and maybe Atari?) owners could enjoy... The PC version, although equipped with SoundBlaster sound effects, only had crappy AdLib/Roland MIDI music

For those that do not know, Cannon Fodder's intro song created quite a lot of controversy in it's time, although in the manual owners of the original version could read that this was only Sensible Software's way of criticizing this crazy world we're living in... The piece itself is a catchy reggae tune with lyrics that go (shortened version) something like this:

War! Never been so much fun!

      Go up to your brother
      Kill him with your gun
Leave him lying in his uniform
      Dying in the sun

War! Never been so much fun!

      K-K-Kill him
      K-K-Kill him
      Kill him with your gun
      War - So much fun!

      G-G-G-Go up to your brother
      Kill him with your gun
      Go up to your brother
      Kill him with your gun
      Dying in the sun
      Kill him with your gun
      Dying in the sun
      So much fun!

War - Never been so much fun!

      War!

Here's my list, going way back to the Apple II:

              The Longest Journey (PC)
              Massive adventure...not perfect, but close

              Syberia (PC)
An absolute work of art... perhaps the puzzles are a bit too easy...

              Karateka (Apple IIe)

Mechner's precursor to Prince of Persia

              Wings of Fury (Apple IIe)

An incredible game for its time

              Grim Fandango (PC)
Quite possibly the best adventure game ever

              Doom (PC)
It was a tough choice between Wolfenstein 3D and Doom...

              Zany Golf (Apple IIgs)

              Incredibly fun, with spot-on controls

              Alien Mind (Apple IIgs)
This game blew me away in the late 80's

System Shock 1 and 2 (PC)
The atmosphere is incredible in these games. Part 2 is one of the few games to ever evoke fear in me.

              The Last Express (PC)
              Jordan Mechner's masterpiece

              Honorable Mentions:
              Monkey Island series (PC)
              Loom (PC)
              MDK 2 (PC)
              High Heat Baseball series (PC)
It Came from the Desert (Amiga)
              Turrican (Amiga)
              Wolfenstein 3D (PC)

PC games that are really console games:
              Madden Football series
              NHL series
              FIFA series
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2, and 3
              Metal Gear Solid
Bomberman series (there was a crappy version put out for the PC)
(Although these games have appeared on the pc, I still primarily consider them to be console games so I did not consider them for the main list)
