Well it's basiacally the Radeon 9700 Pro but not the PRo ..lol which basically means £60 - £100 less and practically the same performance. I got the Saphire one http://www.sapphiretech.com/vga/9700.asp

BTW they tested one on www.firingsquad.comAccording to the latest official figures, 43% of all statistics are totally worthless...

That's correct, it's only the clockspeed that's lower and usually 3.6ns RAMs instead of the 2.8 ones on the Pro.
And in his case (AthlonXP1600) he will still be CPU-limited in nearly all things, so the Pro would not even be able to go faster, except when using 6xFSAA and 16x aniso. The Pro scales nicely up to at least a P4 with 4GHz!
