XP2400+ or XP2500+

I got new RAM yesterday ( 2 * 512MB DDR400) .. got the 2500+ running at 2300MHz (11.5*200MHz).. it crashed after a while, 10 minutes or so, and the temperature stayed at around 42C ( watercooling) .. I will play around with it some more tonight.. this CPU has alot of potential

I never checked what the original made for code was.. chances are that yours will do at least 11.5*166 or 12* 166.. mine was unlocked from factory, which was pretty nice

Very nice, what board is it and what volt?

it is on an ASUS A7N8X Deluxe... default 1.65Volt.. last night I bumped it to 1.675V as it had a bit of a stability issue.. though I think the SCSI controller is to blame.. I will change it and see what happens..

My Barton will hit 2300 at 200x11.5, but only at 1.9v, aircooled and maxing at 49c. I know the crap Twinmos pc3700 is holding it back as well as the northbridge cooling.

Hopefully my Swifty462 and Iceburq will arrive this week and then I can start pushing it once again

Easy on the voltages RichL, it's very easy to damage these .13 CPU's.

I'm running at 2088MHz @std volts atm. www.8rda.com may be usefull to some here.

No, it is Twinmos PC3700 advertised to run 466mhz and Cas2.5 at 2.7volts.

And if they ever rewrite the laws of physics so 466mhz isnt that fast or 2.7 volts is closer to 5, it might.
I can only get it stable at 200/8-3-3-2.5, changing to cas3 at the same speed crashes the mobo with a C1 bios error. Setting the memory fsb to 233 and the settings to optimal meant it tried to run 233/10-4-4-3, and crashed with a C1 error, even with 2.9v

I'm in the process of RMAing mine as 'not working as advertised', but if you really really want some, I got mine from Komplett and I think Overclockers UK have the same stuff.

Shame really, as Ive heard a lot of good about the Twinmos PC3200/Winbond and foolishly assumed the PC3700 must be at least as good.

I'll be prying my wallet open for some Crucial PC3200LL as soon as I get a refund.

PS -
IIRC my Barton cracked 2ghz at stock voltage too, but to get to 2.2 I had to ramp up to 1.875 and at 1.9v it will do 2.3. Beyond that my Coolermaster XDream starts to run out of steam.
