Drizzt would be right...however, those NICs would be bridged...
    Not good for security.

What you need my Friend, is SmoothWall. Put the computer that you don't want on your private LAN on the Orange NIC and go to town.

I posted a fairly complete article on setting up SmoothWall over at 3dgameman.com, but could easily post it here if someone wanted it. I also have it available in .pdf format.

Smoothwall I believe is an option that Tony is looking at.

English doesn't borrow from other languages. It follows them down dark alleys, knocks them over, and goes through their pockets for loose grammar.

I think by now that I have established that Smoothwall (or simm.)is the only affordable h/w solution.

Thanks to all concerned for the advice. MMM - yes please, a link would be nice

        Cheers

RedRed...if you are running less than 64MB of RAM, there is an issue with installing any updates if Snort is running. Turn off All extra features, reboot, then try to install them, rebooting each time.

OK, so Smoothwall it is. Its an old Compaq Presario, which I haven't had much time to look at yet. At least it has room for the nics and has USB for the Alcatel modem.

Go with 1.0 or the new Beta?

It has to be, unless it was written from scratch (or somehow, one author has done ALL the work).
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.
