1. open My Computer
2. don't select anything
3. right click on the C: straightaway

I just did exactly those steps, and still don't have the problem. Are all your patches up to date?

This is Happening on my Dual CPU rigs...though I top out at 51% (Gotta Love SMP load balancing): I also have that new ntdll.dll file installed and it makes no difference.

Just tested it on a friends K6-2 450 XP server, no CPU usage bug here. Can't test it on my home computer (Celeron Tualatin 1.2) because my XP install ate itself (good thing I dual-boot Win98 SE and never really used XP anyway.)

Dell GX260's running XP also exhibit the issue, as does a Single CPU AMD at the corner computer store.

Things in common: all 'puters are running NTFS, All computers are networked, and all computers are running fresh installs of XP.

Things not in common...my workstation is locked down like nobody's business. Fast user switching is shut off on my boxes, but not at the corner store (Built up AMD...Iwill KT400 motherboard)

The XP system I tested is using NTFS, and is networked (it's used to share a DSL connection and files with another system.)

My Dell GX260 at work (XP w/SP1) doesn't have the problem. All my machines have NTFS, and fast user switching is disabled.
