Hmmm, I'm sure those benchmarks are slanted to an exent (as it shows the NV30 as faster than the R300), but both companies really need to work on the drivers.

The only problem we encountered with our GeForceFX 5900 Ultra board was that the analog video output was incredibly blurry. For a $499 card we would expect better, and we can only hope that shipping cards won't have the horrible output we noted on our reference board.

Product family is Geforce FX 5900 Ultra, FX 5900 and FX 5900 Value... They should be available in June.

Read three reviews so far and only one, Toms had the Nvidea beating the 9800 Pro in every test. Funny that about Toms.

Toms test is flawed (as ever), in his test the "old" GF FX5800Ultra is faster even in 4x FSAA than the 9700Pro - and we know that this is not true.
What do you expect from test done by the webmaster of a nVidia-page (Lars Weinand)?

Still, I think there's no doubt that the FX5900Ultra is faster overall than the Radeon9800Pro.

I'd like to see real IQ shots as well, since the sudden performance gains from the DetonatorFX drivers are questionable, to say the least. Let's wait for WHQL'ed/cheat-free nVidia drivers (if those will ever come out).

I doubt they can squeeze the needed FPS out of the 9800 Pro to top the 5900 Ultra. But here's to hoping they can keep things competative.

from the screenshots from hardocp, anandtech, and toms, it seems like the 3d quality of NV35 is still inferior to R300/R350. i.e. the anti-aliasing is pretty BAD on the NV35 if you ask me.

2D wise... I guess nVIDIA won't ever get my money

The gamma corrected AA on ATi cards is great, and NV35 can't touch it. But, with Aniso they appear to be pretty much equal it appears.

To be fair, nVidias anisotropic filtering is superior from a technical viewpoint.
But the thing is, you really don't see the "shortcuts" ATI is taking in real games, not even in screenshots.

What you do clearly see, however, is that nVidia has drastically lowered the texture detail settings in at least some of their recent drivers, leading to unacceptably crappy IQ.

Until I see screenshot-comparisions of real games, I will therefore take the results of any newer nVidia driver with a MAJOR grain of salt.

The memory arrangement looks exactly like Parhelia's, except they seem more "unorganized"
