I did not have to remove the shim to get my card up to 385/337, though. And I would definitely NOT dare, since I saw a friend kill a 9700 during this process, most likely due to crashing the GPU core at the border when he tried to get the damn shim off (and I was at his place at the moment he did this procedure and he did nothing extraordinarily stupid as far as I saw )

The 9700Pro is fast enough for everything, so why should I risk damaging it?
Yeah, I ended up taking it off because I was thinking my AIW was having heat issues and causing system beeps. I didn't want to take it off at first, but the risk was worth it in the end.
