Tying to install an old AGFA Snapscan 1212P on a mates XP system (XP2000+, 512MB, 825LMR mobo, XP Pro).
Official XP drivers aren't available, but there are beta drivers that have been made to work. The problem is that the parallel port is set to ECP and this scanner is most likely to work as EPP. The scanner is not found when in ECP mode.
Whenever I change the BIOS to something else I get a BSOD and reboot during login (just before choosing an account). Unfortunately the screen is garbled and too quick to see anything useful.
I've tried removing the port in safe mode, disabling in bios and rebooting but I always get the same problem.
bios is set to use ACPI and 'plug and play aware OS'.
Any ideas?
Thanks
T.
