But seriously, Nero is SOOO not intended to do DAO. Just get CloneCD or Blindwrite or Fireburner.

my only experiences were with roxio, nero and sony's own software (!!!). havent tried those you mentioned.

nero is good enough for me as an all-round software.

ok so i was theoretically doing the wrong thing. that's nice.

i suppose TAO or DAO wouldnt be any problems even with the most finicky players?

I always use Nero and I never remember having any problems burning DAO. CloneCD is very good too.

I use Nero and an external Yamaha F1 (USB 2.0, very sweet), and I write DAO discs all the time. Check your Multisession tab, and select No Multisession. Multisession discs obviously don't get closed, so you can't do DAO.

the incredible thing is i did what you said many times over and the silly program keeps on reverting back to TAO even when i said FINALIZE and NO MULTISESSION.

i reinstalled nero, i even remember i had a fresh OS some time ago with nero and the same thing occurs without fail.

but anyway... i'm fine with TAO. thanks for all the help guys.
